Richard L. Baumgardner's Obituary
Age 74, of Michigan Center, passed away at his home, Tuesday, October 31, 2017 under the loving care of his family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. Rich is survived by his beloved family, his wife, Elaine; three children, Lynne (David) Lawler of The Woodlands, TX, Dan and Tim Baumgardner, both of Jackson; step-daughter, Tracy (Ron) Payne of Jackson; five grandchildren, Alex and Leslie Lawler, Danialle Baumgardner, Krysten and Tom Payne; sisters, Marlene Denig, Judy Whitaker and Sandy Baumgardner; brothers, Bob (Kathy), Ralph and Jerry (Pat) Baumgardner; sister-in-law, Barb Baumgardner; Wigley in-laws; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery Baumgardner and Virginia Ziesmann; brothers, Mike and Raymond (Pam) Baumgardner. Rich (known as "Bummy" to many) was employed as a machinist with Jackson Drop Forge and retired from Lefere Forge. Some of his favorite times were spent with family, friends and enjoying many outdoor activities/hobbies such as; fishing, hunting, mushrooming and harness racing. He was a longtime member of Michigan Center Eagles Aerie #3634, 302 Fifth Street in Michigan Center where a Time of Remembrance will be held with a casual luncheon from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 4, 2017. For those who wish, contributions in Rich's memory may be given to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice.
