Richard Alan Garrison's Obituary
Age 87, of Rives Junction, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Allegra Nursing and Rehab in Jackson. Richard was born in Michigan Center on Friday, April 27, 1934 to the late Donald V. and E. Mateel (Hunt) Garrison. He is survived by his wife; Patricia T. (Metcalf) Garrison, three children; Steven (Julie) Garrison, Leslie Garrison and Kathy Diaz, step-son; Robert (Sarah) Stetler, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother; William Garrison, nephew; Jimmy Garrison and step-son; Keith Stetler. For four years he proudly served the nation in the United States Navy. He was a long time member of the Rose City American Legion Post #324 in Michigan Center. He retired after 35 years as a Corrections Officer with the State Department of Corrections. Richard loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 11 am from the Lansing Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Steven Sebring officiating. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time at the Church. Graveside Military Honors will be provided by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Contributions in his memory are directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
