Richard Lee Austin's Obituary
Age 59, of Jackson, passed away at his home October 16, 2016. He is survived by seven siblings, Dan (Suzie) Austin, Cathy Ward, Jack Austin, Tim Austin, Kevin Austin, Angela (Tom) Kolk and Rod Harris, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Barbara (Herney) Austin and two brothers, Donald 'Fred' and Michael Austin. Richard served the nation in the US Army, was a long time chef at the Jackson Country Club, was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed artistry, family times, quiet times and music. Services will be held at the funeral home Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11 am with Rev. Richard Brooks officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 6-8 pm. He will be interred with full military honors at the Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan Monday at 2 pm. Contributions in his memory are directed to Angela Kolk to help defray expenses.
