Richard Dale Malson's Obituary
Richard Dale Malson, 83, passed away on January 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Richard’s family and friends will gather Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Cement City Baptist Church, 16788 Cement City Rd., Cement City, MI from 10:00 -11:00 a.m.. His funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Drew Woods will officiate.
Richard was born on August 20, 1939, in Onsted, Michigan to William and Gladys (Cheesbro) Malson. Richard married the love of his life, Margaret Ann Harrison, on June 18, 1960 at Cadmus Presbyterian Church in Cadmus, Michigan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a 1957 graduate of Onsted High School where he was vice president of the FFA. He then worked his way through college and became a civil engineer and a farmer. He and his wife also built, repaired and sold many homes. Richard taught Sunday school and helped lead the youth group at church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and watching his grandchildren participate in sports.
Richard will be missed by his loving wife of nearly 63 years, Margaret; his children, Cindy (Gary) Graham, Lezlie Malson; his sisters, Virginia Smith, Arberta Fox; grandchildren Gerald (Lori) Malson, Matthew (Vanessa) Malson, DeAnna Malson, Brian Graham, Daniel Graham, Margaret King, Noah Richard King, Lulu King; great grandchildren Lukas Malson and Kryslynn Malson. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eldon Cheesbro; a sister Alberta Southwell; and a son, Gary Malson.
