Richard Lee Paul's Obituary
Richard “Dick” Lee Paul, 88, of Manchester passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Richard’s family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday January 2, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Eineder Funeral Homes - Manchester Chapel and on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Emanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester directly followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Eugene Blair will serve as celebrant.
Richard was born on June 12, 1936, in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan to Elmer William and Florence Marie Rose (Bauer) Paul. A 1954 graduate of Manchester High School, Richard married the love of his life, Arlene Marie Esch, on November 29, 1958 in Manchester, Michigan. Richard served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany for a time. He worked as an aircraft technician for Ford Motor Company for 30 years. He was a loved member of the community, being a lifelong member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester and of the American Legion. Richard worked his family farm and enjoyed gardening and hunting. He also, greatly enjoyed travelling and has been to all 50 states as well as many other countries. Richard especially loved spending time with family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Richard will be missed by his loving wife of 66 years Arlene Marie Paul; his children, Gary (Kris) Paul, and Bruce (Lisa) Paul; grandchildren, Ryan (Anya), Katie, Cody (Cassie), and Connor; great grandchild Bryce; and several sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Florence Paul; brothers, William, Allen, and Robert; and sister, Mary.
