Rick Lee Pickrell's Obituary
PICKRELL, RICK LEE Age 62, of Blackman Township, passed away at his home, Sunday, July 20, 2014 under the loving care of his family. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Debbie; three children, James Andrus, Ricky Pickrell II and Lindsay (Andrew) DuPree; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Lucas DuPree; five siblings, Robert (Sonia) Birch, Connie (Mike) Jahnke, Brenda McNickle, Jolene Smith and Michael Pickrell; several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine (Mercer) Pickrell and special friend Joey Kurpinski. Rick was a 1970 graduate of Jackson High School where he participated in baseball and basketball. After graduation he worked 5 years in the Foote Hospital Dietary Department, went on to a 20 year career with Western & Southern Insurance Company and then retired after 16 years with Consumers Energy Parnall Offices working in security. Rick enjoyed league bowling and playing both fast and slow pitch softball for many years in the City of Jackson Recreation Leagues. Funeral Services will be held at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, 361 E. Grove St., Michigan Center, MI Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 2 pm with the Reverend Jerry Webb officiating. Interment Leoni Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday 5-8pm and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to service time. For those who wish, contributions in Rick's memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Relay for Life.
