Rita Marie Rushing's Obituary
Rushing, Rita Marie (Ouellette) Age 88, of Dearborn Heights, MI and recently residing at Arbor North Assisted Living Jackson, MI, passed away on Monday April 28, 2014. She was born on August 7, 1925 in Riverside, Ontario, Canada to the late George and Rose Anna (Laforet) Ouellette. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Eugene, Charles, Frank and Raymond Ouellette; her sisters, May Nadalin and Margaret Cook and her son, Michael Rushing. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, William Jack Rushing; brother, Roland Ouellette; and her children, Patricia Nicolato, Christine Slotemaker, Pamela Sass, Ronald Rushing, Carol Laage, David Rushing and Sandra Booher; 24 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was a longstanding devout parishioner of St. Sebastian Church, Dearborn Heights Michigan and was active in the women's and hospitality ministries. She was an avid seamstress who enjoyed making special clothes for her children. One of her greatest joys was to cook for the family and gather us to her loving home. Funeral Mass will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 811 S. Wisner, Jackson, MI on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:30 am. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:30 am until service time. Private Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
