Robert "Bob" Arkabauer's Obituary
Robert Arthur Arkabauer, 74, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at home with his loving wife and G.B. Spencer, and Becky by his side. Bob’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm and Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Rick Silveus will officiate. Interment following the service at Roseland Memorial Gardens, Jackson.
He was born on October 27, 1950, in West Branch, Michigan to Wilbert and Olivia (Bloemker) Arkabauer. Bob married the love of his life, Mellissa Silveus, on October 12, 1974, in Brooklyn, Michigan. He was a Columbia Central High School graduate, class of 1968. Bob was a lifetime member of the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church. He worked at Plastic Gage and Columbia Schools for many years. Bob was mechanically inclined and loved his adventures riding his motorcycle with Mellissa. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and cooking, especially his smoked meats. Family gatherings were very important to Bob. He also coached girls’ and boys’ softball teams and was an umpire at times. The kids lovingly referred to him as “Uncle Bob with the popcorn machine”. He even participated in the yearly Napoleon theater. Bob was truly an all-around nice guy that will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mellissa; his brother, Roger Arkabauer; many nieces and nephews and his special, G.B., Spencer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Olivia.
