Robert M. Bray, 83, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer at the Henry Ford Jackson Hospice Home, February 17, 2026.
Robert was born on January 30, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, to Robert and Winifred (Wakeman) Bray. After high school, Robert joined the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1961-1964. He was in the 72nd Signal Company as an Electronic Counter Measures Specialist. After serving his country, Robert was a dedicated employee of the Dana Corporation as a Time Study technician for 43 years, proudly following in his Grandfather’s footsteps. He had a vast knowledge and love of cars, especially the classics. Robert was an avid bowler in the Jackson area. You could find him just about every day in a diner or restaurant with his “coffee buddies”. He will be remembered as a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather, enjoying time spent with family.
Robert will be greatly missed by his children, Penny ( Rich) Spooner, Douglas (Melinda) Bray, Justus (Autumn) Bray and Derek (Lauren Chaize) Bray; grandchildren, Lindsey (Rob) Copus, Carley (Tom Jenkins) Spooner, Alex (Bekah) Bray and Alyssa (Taylor) Hunt and great grandchildren, Samuel and Jonah. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
