Robert John Cheetham's Obituary
Robert John Cheetham, a Cement City resident for the past 80 years died at Carelink of Jackson, January 15, 2013, in Jackson, Michigan. Born to Clare and Ethel Cheetham on April 20, 1925 in Jackson, Michigan. Bob graduated from Cement City High School. He worked at his father's trucking company Cheetham Trucking until the closing of the cement plant in Cement City in 1969. Bob and his late wife Lois Marie Shewman were married 59 years at the time of her death on November 24, 2003. Bob is survived by his children Robert Cheetham (Ingaborg) of Hungry Horse, Montana, Suzanne Hoaglin (Dennis) of Horton, Michigan, Dee Cheetham of Sarasota, Florida, Cynthia Etsler (Stephen) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Scott Cheetham of Lake Columbia, Michigan. He is also survived by siblings Audrey Choate, Jackson, Michigan, Jerry Cheetham (Alma), Tempe, Arizona, Bonnie Reeser (Melvin), Jackson, Michigan. Bob is survived by 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Green and Phyllis Simon. Bob owned and operated Cheetham Trucking, Twin Oaks Sales and Service, G&D Market and was President of the Cement City School Board for four years. He also served as Fire Chief of the Cement City Fire Department. Visitation will be held at Nichols Arthur Funeral Home in Michigan Center, Michigan on Friday evening January 18, 2013 at 6-8 pm. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Cement City cemetery. Contributions in his honor are directed to the charity of you choice.
