Robert Edward Duncan's Obituary
Age 87, of Blackman Township, passed away June 9, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Charlene (maiden-Carpenter) Duncan. Also surviving are his children; Robert (Shelly) Duncan, Tom Duncan, Cathy (Mike) Andrews, Gary Duncan and Sue (Ed) Whitney; step-daughters who loved him dearly: Vicky Jones, Tina (Jeff) Wolf, Lee Ann (Clay Henry) Davis, Carol (Craig) Ressler, Ann Jones; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; his sister, Sandie Harris and his beloved dog Herky.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hauty W.E. and Ora E. (maiden-Elrod) Duncan and two sisters. Robert retired as an Inspector after a 30-year career at Aeroquip. He was a gifted musician, playing the guitar, mandolin, banjo and harmonica and was a lover of old country music. He enjoyed travel to Northern Michigan and especially long walks in the Upper.
Services will be held at the funeral home Friday, June 12, 2020 at 4:30 pm with Rev. Melvin Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 pm until service time. Cremation will follow. COVID restrictions may have an impact on actual service location, (inside or out). Contributions in his memory are directed to his family.
