Robert K. Van Epps' Obituary
Age 80, of Summit Township, passed away at his home, Friday, June 26, 2015. He was born December 10, 1934 to Kenneth and Lucille (Holland) Van Epps, the oldest of six children. He was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Patricia A. (Linnabury) Van Epps; his parents; brother, Dale Van Epps; sister, Patricia Russ; brothers-in-law, Paul Matlow Jr. and Terry Bevier. Bob leaves behind his beloved daughter, Robin A. (Fred) Shepherd; grandchildren, Jacquelyn A. Shepherd and Jacob R. Shepherd (Sarah Payne); great-grandsons, Colton C. Shepherd and Skylar Pitman; three sisters, Donna (Harold) Dangler, Nancy Matlow and Linda Bevier; sister-in-law, Barbara Van Epps; brother-in-law, Jack Russ; many nieces and nephews. At the age of 16, Bob went to work for an ice company in Jackson; by 18 he joined his father and grandfather at Walker Mfg., working there for 12 years after which he and his wife and father worked side-by-side for 40 years as owner and operator of Van's Service on Cooper Street. His greatest joy in life was time spent with his family and he enjoyed music (especially playing guitar), bowling and horseshoes. Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 11 am with Bob's nephew, Scott Van Epps officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm.
