Robert E Kelley's Obituary
Kelley, Robert E. Age 87, of Summit Township, passed away peacefully Friday, February 22, 2013 at his daughter and son-in-law's Vandercook Lake home. He is survived by three daughters, Penny (Larry) Applegate of Vandercook Lake, Margaret (Mike) Ritter and Barbara (James) Wilson, both of Florida; eight grandchildren, Scott Ritter, Amy de Sercy, Terry, Corey, Troy and Ryan Applegate, Holly Sharpton and James Wilson II; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother and sister-in-law, Ozzie and Peggy Williams; sister-in-law, Christine Kelley. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Alice in 2010; parents, William and Feleniece Kelley; four brothers, Lawrence, Gordon, William and Paul Kelley; and sister, Barbara Griffin. He graduated from Leslie High School in 1943; served in the US Army as a paratrooper in World War II; was an avid fan of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events and enjoyed his Vandercook Lake Burger King family, going for coffee a couple of times a day. Mr. Kelley has been cremated. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 11:00 am at the Cement City Baptist Church with Pastor Drew Woods officiating. A Luncheon will follow. Military Honors will be rendered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Contributions in his memory are directed to the church or Allegiance Hospice.
