Robert "Sparky" Mohr's Obituary
Robert Lon Mohr, 68, of Michigan Center passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, at home with his adoring wife at his side. Private services will be held at a later date.
He was born on July 4, 1956, in Jackson, Michigan to Nelson and Patricia (Ratcliff) Mohr. Sparky married the love of his life, Joan Hawkins, on November 22, 1975, in Jackson, Michigan. He will be remembered for his terrific sense of humor, which he maintained until the end. Sparky was a master guitarist, playing in the band “Short Notice” that played at the Carp Carnival. He also was extremely patriotic. Every 4th of July he would get the boat out and proudly display his huge American flag while driving around Michigan Center Lake. He truly loved the lake life and cherished his time with his sons, teaching them everything he could about working with his hands, riding motorcycles, boating, etc.. He was a renowned “jack of all trades”, willing to help anyone in need. Sparky’s signature phrase was “See ya later – you son of a mother”. Now the day is here he’d say, “The day is here, that I woke up dead”. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Sparky is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joan; his sons, Robert (Teresa) Mohr and Benjamin Mohr; siblings, Donna Mohr and Alan Mohr; a granddaughter, Serena Mohr; and several nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Christie Mohr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Patricia; two brothers, Edward and Michael Mohr.
Memorial contributions may be given to family for future designation. Please leave a message of comfort for Sparky’s family or sign his guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
