Robert Leon Schlundt's Obituary
Age 88, of Napoleon Township, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health on Friday, September 30, 2022 due to complications of an automobile accident.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy R. Schlundt in 2018; parents, Paul and Florence (Krueger) Schlundt; and brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Jeannette Schlundt.
He is survived by his two sons, Steve (Tina Marie) Schlundt and Tim (Jody) Schlundt; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Madelynn and Isabelle Schlundt; great-granddaughter, Robin; brothers, James (Darlene) Schlundt and David (Alice) Schlundt; nieces and nephews.
Robert was born and raised in Michigan City, Indiana. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Returning home, he worked as a meat cutter to put himself through Purdue University's Michigan City campus to earn his Associate's Degree in Accounting. He started his career with Clark Equipment in Michigan City and transferred to their Jackson facility in 1975. Upon their closing, he worked and retired from Cortez Customs Brokerage House in Battle Creek.
Robert was a member of the Gamma Lambda Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa fraternal business organization and Christ Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golf in his younger days, time tending to his yard and gardening. Mostly, he enjoyed time with his family, especially with Nancy, the love of his life.
Funeral Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church (4250 Page Ave., Michigan Center, MI 49254) on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Napoleon with military honors offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Visitation will be at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
