Robert Frank Spencer, 85, of Summit Twp., passed away November 27, 2023. Services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church. There will be public gathering from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Service will im Read Obituary
Bob Spencer was my band director at Columbia Central class of 1972. He was an amazing man. He was a great teacher and really loved his students you could tell. And we all loved him! My thoughts are with his family. You were lucky to have such a wonderful dad!
Bob was a great friend and music compadre. i played many a gig with Bob and his Rhythm Ramblers. Played many gigs with him in other bands as well. He also was a wonderful teacher to our daughters Amy & Christina and left a wonderful music mark on both of them. I might mention also that my wife Laura and I played several musicals under his direction at Columbia Central High School. May God Bless Him and May He Rest In Peace.

I have such fond memories of Mr. Spencer. They left off the part about him being the band director at Napoleon in the 60's. I remember when we went to the marching band competition it was time for us to leave, but we didn't know what our grade was. We were all piled on the bus and he stayed behind to get our grade. I remember him running to the bus to let us know we got an awesome grade!! We were all so proud!! RIP Mr. Spencer.

Bob Spencer had a profound influence on my life, always encouraging, of my flute playing. My most fond memories from high school are with the band, band camp and playing in the pit for the musicals (Columbia Central High School class of 1973). Us band kids were blessed to have such a kind, gifted man to mentor us. RIP dear Sir. 🙏
Bob was a truly great musician. Keith and I depended on his wonderful skill at musical style. His example at all times elevated all around him. He told me how devastated he was when Cheryl passed through the veil ahead of him. They are together now. Say hi to Keith for me, Bob.
