Robert Lee Taylor's Obituary
Age 76, of Michigan Center, passed away at Allegiance Health Friday June 5, 2015. He is survived by four children; Robert Scott Taylor, Rod Steven (Terri) Taylor, Richard Roy Taylor and Linda Jeane-Marie (Kevin) Reha, six grandchildren; Robi Taylor, Mark Taylor, Brooke Taylor, Adam Taylor, Tanner Reha and Taylor Reha, two great-grandchildren; Conor and Harper Taylor, three siblings; Vicky Burris, Jerry (Pat) Bauer and Frannie Tankhurst, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Delores Jeane Taylor, parents Marie (Erwin) Bauer and father Roy (Helen) Taylor. Bob was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather; his family was always his first priority. He was a 1957 graduate of Michigan Center High School, earned his Associates Degree at Jackson Junior College, he served the nation in the US Coast Guard Reserve. He was employed by Teer-Wickwire and later became Vice-President and Chief Engineer of the former Universal Vise and Tool Company, holding several engineering patents that stand to this day. He was a member of the Coolidge Lodge #532 F. & A.M. (now Jackson Lodge #17). He and his wife later founded Tayco Tools, Inc., Jackson Fluid Power and Jackson Self-Storage which they owned for many years before retiring. He loved to watch his children play sports throughout the years and even more enjoyed watching his grandchildren compete. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially loved to take the ""Linda Jeane-Marie"" to Breast Bay for Walleye and Platte Bay for Salmon. In his later years he liked to have good conversation and was known to tell a 'whopper' of a fish story. Most of all he liked to reflect on the past of his wonderful marriage to Jeanie and the love he had for his children. He was truly a unique person and a fixture in the Michigan Center Communtiy for many years. Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 11 am. Interment Leoni Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Michigan Center Cardinal Club. Military Honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team.
