Roger Alan Gaede's Obituary
Roger Alan Gaede, 84, of Brooklyn passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Adrian Bay Rehab and Nursing Center, Adrian. Roger’s family and friends will gather Friday, January 12, 2024 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel. His funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 am. Pastor Ned Bernstein will officiate. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan will be at a later date.
He was born on June 5, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio to Robert and Elsie (Wolfe) Gaede. Roger married the love of his life, Donna Williams, on June 21, 1963, in Geneva, Ohio. He was an Orwell High School Graduate, class of 1957 and later received his bachelors at Kettering University, formerly General Motors Institue and his masters at Renesslear Poly Tech in New York. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed with General Motors from 1963 – 1997. Roger enjoyed wood carving, gardening , hunting, fishing and golfing. He aspired to restore older automobiles. Roger and Donna raised Beagles for a short time and he became a master gardener. He was on the Columbia Township Planning Committee, Jackson Planning Committee, Department of Aging Committee, and involved in the Hidden Lake Gardens – Botanical Garden. Roger loved airplanes, flying and reading his bible. He made many lifelong friends along his life’s journey. Roger will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna; many nieces and nephews; close friends, Harold Boorman, Wayne Huff and Charles McKeen. He is preceded in death by his parents, and all of his siblings.
