Ronald Douglas German's Obituary
Ronald Douglas German, 75, of Brooklyn, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Henry Ford Hospital Jackson after a long battle with health issues. Ron’s family is planning a graveside service in June 2026.
He was born on August 2, 1950 in Tecumseh, Michigan to Ron and Maxine (Marr) German. Ron married the love of his life, Susan Beamer, on April 28, 1984 in Hinesville, Georgia. He will be remembered for his devotion to his country and his wife. Ron is a Milan High School graduate, class of 1970. He then went into the United States Armed Forces, were he proudly served for 20 years, retiring as an E8 Master Sergeant. Ron then worked for the Gus Harrison Correction Facility for 20 years along with the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor for 8 years. He was a great provider for his family. Ron loved to observe people, and was extremely generous. To his family he was a living hero. He inherited Ron’s campground on Mud Lake and many of the campers became like family as they returned year after year. Ron was quite the jokester and a great role model for young people. In his early years he enjoyed fishing and woodworking, making several items for his wife. Ron will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Susan; their children, Bradley (Lisa) Radford and Clifford Radford; a sister, Patricia Kiger; and grandchildren Nicholas, Richard and Michael Radford. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Rachel Newman.
