Rosemary Elizabeth Swihart's Obituary
Born in Jackson, Michigan January 1, 1924, she passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health on January 4, 2019. Surviving are her daughters Joanne Freeman and Kathy Nelson of Arizona; son Daniel (Donna) Swihart of Horton; daughter-in-law Nel Swihart of Indiana; six grandchildren, Brian (Kristen) Freeman of New York, Kirsten Freeman and Hans (Shannon) Nelson of Arizona, Robert (Mary Gale) Swihart of Indiana, Rich and Steve Swihart of Jackson; ten great-grandchildren, Jake and Rafe Swihart, Piper and Kadey Nelson, Shelby Hancock, Joseph Freeman, Britney, Brock, Trent and Roxie Swihart; brother-in-law Leonard Swihart and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Robert Bruce and Mae (Bregg) Bruce; her husband of 56 years Charles R. Swihart; daughter Betty Swihart; son Chuck Swihart; brothers Roy, Kenneth (Nel), Robert and George (Genevieve) Bruce, sisters Helen (Wyman) Godfrey, Dorothy (Al) Welch and Lila Bruce. Rosemary is retired from L.H. Field's, was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church, a volunteer and auxiliary member of W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital; Clark Retirees Club, Rose City Chapter AARP, Jackson Citizen Patriot Golden Wedding Club, Michigan Center Senior Center and the Boos Recreation Center. She led a very active life with her husband wintering in Arizona, traveling throughout the United States and enjoying time with her family. Services will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home, Michigan Center, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11am with Rev. Larry Rubingh officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday 5-8 pm. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Salvation Army.
