Roy Lee Roberts' Obituary
Roy Lee Roberts, 73, of Michigan Center, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023. A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Polish Falcons, 1423 Joy Avenue, Jackson, MI 49203.
He was born on July 25, 1949, in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Burton and Dorothy (Garrison) Roberts. Roy enlisted in the Army after high school at Michigan Center High. While serving in Vietnam as a combat engineer, Roy was injured and transferred to a hospital in Japan. After his discharge, he worked in construction until the day of his passing. He will be remembered for his skills in cement work. Roy was a very hard worker that kept to himself, except for a few close friends. He enjoyed woodworking, specializing in animal and military yard art. You may have seen some of his work around the Michigan Center area. Above all, Roy enjoyed spending time with “Frank” his beagle. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roy is survived by his siblings, Carl Daniel (Donna) Roberts and Patricia Holcomb; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Dana Henry. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Jennifer and son, Craig; brother, Albert and sister, Donna; and a brother-in-law, Mark Holcomb.
