Ruby L. ""Nikki"" Masters' Obituary
Age 78, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on November 30, 2015 at Arbor Manor after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Nikki is survived by three sisters, Grace Miller of Michigan Center, Gloria (Don) Patterson of Jackson and Diana Kent of St. Joseph Island, Ontario, Canada; two sisters-in-law, Jacquelyn and Nanette Masters; many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Grace (English) Masters; brothers, Erwin ""Sonny"" Masters Jr. and George W. ""Bubby"" Masters; brothers-in-law, Harold Miller and William ""Bill"" Kent. She graduated from Michigan Center High School, class of 1955, then Jackson Junior College and Eastern Michigan University. Nikki was a teacher at Clement School in the Michigan Center School District for 31 years. Through the years, many warm comments have been made from former students and parents about the help and encouragement that she gave to ""her kids"" that she taught. She also worked as a realtor in the Jackson area. She enjoyed gardening, politics, golfing and bowling and was a big sports fan. For the past 5 plus years, Nikki lived at Spring Arbor Assisted Living Center and for the past month at Arbor Manor. Her family appreciates the excellent care that both of these facilities gave to her. Nikki attended the First Baptist Church of Napoleon, 108 East Avenue, where funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Reggie Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Nichols-Arthur Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be given to the First Baptist Church of Napoleon or the Alzheimer's Association.
