Russel James Lotter's Obituary
Age 74, of Jackson, formerly of Tuscola County, passed away at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit January 4, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years; Donna Marie (Peterson) Lotter, four children; Jason and Jeremy Lotter, Rayna (Brendan) Miller and Rebecca (Bryan) Nicholas, 12 grandchildren; siblings; Orlin (Linda) Lotter, Sharon (Aaron) Stanfield, Janice (Harry) Steele and Marilynn Lotter, father-in-law; Rev. Donald Peterson, sisters-in-law; Kris (Bob) Ragain and Ruth (Darrell) Payne, many nieces and nephews, and his special cherished pet; Phoebe. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clifton and Dorothy (Dumaw) Lotter, brother; Donald Lotter and his mother-in-law; Marilee Peterson. Russel served the nation in the US Army for three years and the Army Reserves after his enlistment, was a retired machine operator from General Motors, retired from the State of Michigan as a bus driver/trainer and was a youth counselor, janitor and landlord. He enjoyed coaching youth sports, was an avid pen crafter, rock collector, arborist and loved playing games with family and friends. He had a deep faith in God, with three years of Bible College, active as a tract evangelist and was a passionate collector of medical equipment donated to missions. A Celebration of Life to honor his memory will be held at the Caro First Baptist Church, 1535 W. Gilford Road, Caro, MI 48723 on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 am with Pastor Marc Herron officiating. His cremains will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
