Russell Burt Persons' Obituary
Persons, Russell B. Age 92, of Leoni Township, passed away at his home December 11, 2012 under the loving care of his family and Great Lakes Hospice. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Phyllis J.; eight children, Judy Herring, Douglas (Connie) Miller, Linda Persons, Terry (Linda) Persons, Greg (Theresa) Persons, Sally (Bill) Carder, Steven (Mary) Miller and Tim (Tabi) Persons; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; cousin, Rod Smith; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Josh Voehinger and four siblings. Russell served as a clergyman with the United Brethren Church Ministries for many years, enjoyed fishing and trips to Canada, loved to tinker around the house and play the guitar. He has been cremated. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at the funeral home Friday, December 14, 2012 at 6:00 pm with visitation one hour prior. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Great Lakes Hospice or the Wounded Warrior Project.
