Russell Severance's Obituary
Age 90, of Rives Junction, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 6, 2021. He was born in New Jersey on December 13, 1930; the second of eight children to Howard R. and Della A. (Dunn) Severance. He went to college at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Russell's career led him to work with several companies as well as the Federal Bureau of Reclamation that took him from Montana to New York. He had many years at both on staff with Gilbert-Commonwealth Associates and with Consumers Energy as a contracted consultant. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time gardening.
Russell is survived by his wife, Marcia (Boehm) Severance; five children, Chuck (Teresa), Greg (Ginny), Scott (Shenna), Chris and Shawn Severance; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five siblings, Lee McKissock, Johnny Severance, Kathryn Luecht, Dorothy Askey and Kenneth Severance; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Howard Severance and sister Anita Severance.
Cremation has taken place and a time of remembrance will be held Sunday July 11, 2021 from 1-4 PM at Arthur Day Funeral Home, 820 Fifth Street, Michigan Center, MI 49254. For those who wish, contributions in Russell's memory may be given to Jackson Interfaith Shelter.
