Ruth A. Guynn's Obituary
Ruth Arleen Guynn, age 89, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Ruth’s family and friends will gather Monday, July 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00a.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, 4250 Page Avenue, Michigan Center, Michigan. Burial will be held out at Roseland Memorial Gardens at 2:00p.m. Pastor Robert Martin will be officiating.
Ruth was born on January 13, 1934, in Jackson, Michigan to Claude and Edith (Dawson) Ryan. Ruth eloped with the love of her life, Gene A. Guynn and her best friends to Indiana on April 25, 1953. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was not only devoted to her family, but she also was devoted to Christ Lutheran Church. Ruth was the Church Secretary until last year when she finally retired at age 88! When Ruth wasn’t working or volunteering with the church, her and Gene would spend many weekends at their place near Baldwin, Michigan and Big Star Lake.
Ruth will be missed by her children, Chris A. Guynn (Angela) and Deborah (David) McWherter; her brother, Michael (Lynda) Ryan; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene A. Guynn and her parents, Edith & Claude Ryan.
