Sally Jo Emerson, 75, of Brooklyn passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Henry Ford Hospital after a lengthy illness, with her loving family by her side. Sally’s family and friends will gather Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Einder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel, with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Rich Zawadzki will officiate.
She was born on December 20, 1948 in Traverse City, Michigan to Charles and Marguerite (Erickson) Hatt. She will be remembered for her love and kindness for everyone. Sally had a beautiful heart and soul that made everyone welcome. She was a stay-at-home mom while her children were in school. Sally enjoyed her flowers, gardening, canning and was a great cook. She also enjoyed her horses, spending many hours trail riding. Sally gained employment at Sparton Electronics for several years. She then moved to Tennessee and worked as a cook for a elementary school where she retired after many years of service. A job she truly loved. The children even called her “Grammy”. She was a loyal friend and had a great sense of humor. Her faith gave her the courage, strength and resilience she needed during the difficult days. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sally is survived by her children, Randy Arntz, Casey (Sarah) Arntz and Carolie (Duane) Staggemeier; a sister, Barb Dixon; grandchildren, Angie Arntz-Gundrum, Bryce Summers, Chance, Kristian and Jonathon, Megyn and Caden, Tessa and Brett, and Jace Klibenski; great grandchildren Nevada and Miles; and a special daughter like niece, Jill Jennings-Foland. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Mary Jennings. She will be joining her beloved grandson in heaven Seth “Tootie” Taylor, Jr.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a Leukemia Foundation. Please leave a message of comfort for Sally’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
