Sandra Marie Newton's Obituary
Sandra Marie Newton, 67, of Vandercook, Michigan passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. Sandy’s family and friends will gather Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (Formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home). Her funeral and celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm. She will be laid to rest following the service at Roseland Memorial Gardens. Linda Carmoney will serve as celebrant.
She was born on December 7, 1955, in Jackson, Michigan to Clarence “Nick” and Bertha (Garver) Nixon. Sandy married, Jerry Newton, on June 26, 1995, in Jackson, Michigan. Sandy loved her family and accepted everyone with open arms. She enjoyed time with her family and friends, especially times around the bonfire or looking out across the lake watching the sunsets. Sandy made it a point to attend her daughter’s girl scout functions and all of her grandchildren’s events. She enjoyed playing games; whether it is by staying up late to play card/ board games or going to the Casino. Sandy also crocheted in her spare time and always had to have a scratch off card in her hand. The memories that she made with her family and friends will never be forgotten. Sandy was an exceptional woman that will forever remain in our hearts.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jerry; her daughter, Lonie (George) Howell; a sister, Sue Simon; grandchildren Bryan Bennett, Justin, Brittnay, Kirsten, Kylee and Devin; 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian Russell and a sister, Sherry Kurzynowski.
