Sarah D. Harbaugh's Obituary
Harbaugh, Sarah
Cement City, Michigan
Sarah Harbaugh, 94, passed away peacefully in Beaverton, Michigan with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. She was born on December 2, 1925 in Hooversville, Pennsylvania to Ralph and Bessie (Flanagan) Carbone. Sarah married the love of her life, Eugene Harbaugh, on August 17, 1945, in Ecorse, Michigan.
During World War II, while Gene was away serving his country, Sarah worked for Ford Motor Company on the assembly line, like “Rosie the Riveter”. After his return, they started a family, and Sarah became a homemaker. She did become active in the community as township treasurer. Sarah enjoyed her flowers, crafting, crocheted, reading, and sewing in her spare time. She and Gene traveled, always making time for the annual summer fishing trip to Canada. Spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren was one of Sarah’s favorite pastimes. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sarah is survived by her son, Eric (Roberta) Harbaugh; grandchildren Sydney and Cole Harbaugh; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 69 years, Gene, and 10 brothers and sisters.
Sarah’s family held a private graveside service at Cement City Baptist Memorial Gardens. Please leave a message of comfort for Sarah’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
