Shirley was born on September 25, 1934, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont to Jeanette Beford. Shirley married Ernest Paul Clement on June 15, 1964, in Alpena, Michigan and he precedes her in death. Shirley moved to Brooklyn in 1978 and she worked at Columbia Jr. High in the lunchroom from 1978 to 1992. After retiring from there, she worked as a receptionist at Plentz Chiropractic Clinic until 2005. Shirley had a special gift of conversation. She was easy to strike up a conversation with a good listener and not shy to tell you how she really felt. After retirement, she spent much of her time developing many lasting friendships over the internet. She became an adoptive mother to many. She looked forward to bingo, the casino and playing cards, but absolutely enjoyed visiting with people the most.
Shirley will be greatly missed by her children, Barbara (Mark) Fields, Joseph Cook, Deborah Aguinaga, Dean Cook and Stephen (Jane) Clement; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cherished friends Marian, Cindy, Jim and Carla will miss her greatly. Shirley loved cats and she will be missed by her beloved Silas. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ernest.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Rita Catholic Church or Irish Hills Eagles Post #3689
