Shirley Ann Hines' Obituary
Shirley Ann Hines, 88, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on July 7, 2026. Shirley’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, July 15 2026, 6:00pm – 8:00pm, and Thursday, 10:00am – 11:00am, at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel. Interment will take place at St John’s Catholic Cemetery.
She was born on July 3, 1938, in Jackson, Michigan, to Wilbur and Cassie (Case) Derr. She graduated from Jackson High in 1956 and soon after, Shirley married the love of her life, Walter Dean Hines, on June 22, 1957, in Jackson, Michigan at St John’s Catholic Church. She will be remembered as an avid traveler, which included many of her favorite destinations, especially Hawaii. Shirley loved playing Euchre, bowling, gardening and watching the humming birds. She always looked forward to her Lady’s gatherings, especially the luncheons through the senior center. However, Shirley’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
Shirley will be missed by her children, Joe (Melita) Michael, David (Dawn) Timothy, Gregory Scott (Holly); grandchildren, TJ, Robert, Natasha, Britney, Jordan, Taylor, Olivia, Evan, Landon and Lea; and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Walter, her infant son Matthew, son Christopher, brother Chuck and granddaughter Baylee.
