Shirley M. Nelson's Obituary
Age 87, of Jackson, passed away under the loving care of the staff at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility on Friday, April 29, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Nelson Sr. in 1984; her parents, William and Anne (Wydendorf) Decker; brother, Rodney Decker; sisters, Hazel Crooks and Margaret Fairchild. Shirley is survived by her children, Laurel (Don) Risner, Sarah (Joe) Jonas, William (Cindy) Nelson, Orville (Doreen) Nelson Jr., and Howard (Teresa) Nelson; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. Shirley was a clerk at Walgreens for many years and loved crafts and gardening. Her family would like to thank the Nurses and CNAs at the Medical Care Facility for the wonderful care given to Shirley. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm. Private interment services at Woodland Cemetery in Jackson will follow the visitation period.
