Stanley Bruce Ziegler, 94, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. Stanley’s family and friends will hold a full military memorial service at a later date in Gustine, California.
He was born on July 9, 1926, in Syracuse, New York to George and Leta Ziegler. Stanley married the late Frances Petersen 18 years ago, in Modesto, California. He will be remembered for being incredibly hard working and loving life. Stanley was the youngest of 18 children and worked odd jobs from the age of 9 until his time in the service. He proudly serviced in the United States Navy during World War II. After returning home he became employed as a plasterer in California, moving up the ladder of success, retiring after 30 years. He belonged to the Plasterer Local 66 in San Joaquin, California. Stan was the perfect role model of what a man should be, he was honorable, romantic, loved dancing and working with horses. He was the caregiver and took his vows very seriously, the only thing he held to a higher standard was his faith in his Lord. His family was very important to him. Stan enjoyed and collected antique cars, that were his pride and joy.
Stanley is survived by his children, Rick (Lori) Ziegler, Sharon Lang, Eric (Jennifer) Petersen, Lynda (George) Stough, and Denise (David) Nordell; grandchildren Kevin Lang, Kristy (Max) Bauer, Kelley Hamlin, Chad Ziegler, Wesley Petersen, Spencer Petersen, Leslie Townsend, Nathan Stough, Melinda Haggstrom, and Taryn Constantino; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
