Papa, I'm bored, will you come pick me up and take me to the store? I want to go to the bookstore too and maybe ice cream.
I remember when Steve was first retired and of course found alittle extra time on his hands,,he became involved with St.Ritas food closet,,,mind you this was many many years ago,,he was appauled at the lack of groceries in the ''food closet'',,This is when our sunday paper actually had paper coupons in it,,knowing what Steve was doing, I would send my coupons to him, well it soon became the monthly manilla envelope being sent to him, as i would ask my neighbors for the coupons they would just throw away,,,i would clip them , stuff them in the envelope and off to Steve they would go.. He (they) would go shopping with coupons in hand to fill ''the food closet'' at church, because he didnt want to think of anyone or let alone a child going without supper.. this went on for quite awhile with the coupons in the mail and it wasnt just a can of this ,that or the other ,,it would be cases that would be bought.. This is testimony to the huge and kind heart , my brother in law, Steve Sacka had.
He also attended line dancing with Sharon,,ok so his feet didnt really move to much on the dance floor,,he collected the money at the door,,but at least ''he was there'',,sometimes toe tapping lol
What about the halloween party where he was dressed as ''big bird'',,now thats what ya call a good sport !
The many times we (bob and i) would take complete lunch to visit with them at the house,, he could dust off 2 mini sandwiches in a blink of a eye lol but was always grateful and appreciated the luncheon and visit
