Steven Paul Ackerman's Obituary
Age 62, of Allen, Michigan passed away Monday May 16, 2022 at Michigan Medicine, Ann Arbor. Steve was born on Sunday, November 8, 1959 in Jackson, Michigan to the late George Kenneth and Janet Marie (Johnson) Ackerman. He is survived by his wife of 33 years; Terry Lynn (Shipp) Ackerman, two step-children; Ronald F. (Kaeleena) Shipp and September Slocum, six grandchildren; Steven, Kamrie and Kelly Shipp, Zachary Cary, Mayla and Kate-Lynn Slocum, two great-grandchildren; Trinity Slocum and Isaac Cary, two sisters; Vicki Denny and Georgia Fox, many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister; Cindy Heller. Steve plied his trade in the area doing roof and other construction projects for many years. He could build a house from the ground up. Steve served the nation in the US Navy. He was a big supporter of the Detroit Professional Sports Teams, the Lion, Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings and also a University of Michigan Wolverine Football fan. He loved riding his Harley and was a member of the American Resurrected Riding Club. A Celebration of his life will be held at the family home (1793 North Edon Road, Allen, Michigan on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 2 pm until ? pm. Contributions in his memory are directed to any charity that would benefit animals.
