Steven James Phelps' Obituary
Age 67, of Napoleon Township, passed away at his home April 4, 2020 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Careline Home Health Services. He is survived by his wife; Denise E. (maiden-Blakely) Phelps, four children; Shannon (Tighe Conroy) Phelps, Jamie (Bracy Trudell) Phelps, Andrew (Kelsey Allen) Phelps and Nicholas (Kaitlin) Phelps , grandchildren; Hope, Lincoln, Ariel, Lyndsey, Maria, C.J. Aria, Reid, great-grandson Edward Locke III, his mother; Marion (maiden-Rhines) Phelps, sister; Teresa (Dennis) Smith, brothers; Mark (Paula) Phelps and Jack (Janice) Phelps, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; Jack Leon Phelps and his brother; Jeff Phelps. He was a cook for over 27 years at Gilbert's Steak House, many years at the Brown Hut and Vista Grande Villa. Most recently he delivered work supplies and inter office mail for Jackson Public Schools. Steven loved to go camping, play golf and cards and was an avid Michigan Wolverine Fan. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at the Napoleon Lions Clubhouse (7935 Napoleon Road) Saturday August 8, 2020 at 2 pm. Visitation from 1 pm until service time. Contributions in his memory are directed to the American Cancer Society.
