Susan "Sue" M. Rutan's Obituary
To my family and friends: I would like you to know that I have left this party on earth and moved to another party with family and friends that have gone before me.
I was preceded in death by my husband, Louis Rutan; parents, Herbert and Gladys Cecil; and sister, Nancy Wilbur.
I am survived by my three wonderful children, Lori Goodband and her husband Mike, Steve Rutan and Cathy Janiak and her significant other Carson Hampton; six grandchildren, Brad (Sarah) Taylor, Courtney Winter (Scott), Nick Rutan, Mike Rutan, Michelle (Aaron) Riker and Michael Janiak (Lauren); five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers-in-law, Richard Wilbur, John (Janice) Rutan and Harold (Peggy) Rutan; several nieces and nephews. I am also survived by my significant other and dear friend, Richard Porter and his children and their families, SanDee Porter, Casey Porter (Ellen Moon) and Tom Porter.
I retired 1986 after working many years as a secretary with the Michigan Center Schools.
I would like to thank the staff at Henry Ford Home Hospice, especially my nurse Gayle, for the wonderful care given to me over the last few months.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church (361 E. Grove Ave., Michigan Center, MI 49254) on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 am with Reverend Sandy Benes officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services and a luncheon will follow the services. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park at a later date.
For those who wish, contributions may be made in my memory to St. Aidan's Episcopal Church or Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice, 100 E. Michigan Ave., Suite 400, Jackson, MI 49201.
