Sydney’s family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel. Her funeral service will follow visitation at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Jeff Sheeks will serve as officiant. The interment will take place at Jefferson Cemetery in Brooklyn, MI.
Sydney was born on June 12, 1944, in Detroit, MI, to Raymond and Marguerite (Wilson) Craig. She married the love of her life, Aldrich Covert, on October 18, 1984, in West Bloomfield, MI. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, MI, she worked in varies secretarial positions in the Detroit area before accepting a similar position at Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn, MI. While working at Ford Motor Co., Sydney earned 3 college degrees, including a Master of Business Administration degree from Mercy College in 1993. Thereafter, she held legal secretary positions at both Ford Motor Co. and Ford Credit Co., until retiring in 2002.
Even with a full-time position, Sydney found the time and enjoyment in buying and renting homes. She loved maintaining the homes and enjoyed finding projects to tackle. Sydney had an especially strong fondness for dogs and particularly for miniature poodles. Her dogs were one of the joys in her life. Sydney also volunteered at dog rescue organizations and helped support several of them. She will be remembered for her laughter, always looking good and being very easy to get along with.
Sydney will be missed by her husband, Aldrich Covert, her aunt, Barbara Barnes, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Please leave a message of comfort for Sydney’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
