Terry Lee Gillette's Obituary
Terry Lee Gillette, age 75, passed away February 15, 2023. Terry’s visitation will be on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 6pm – 8pm and Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 10am until the start of his service at 11am at Eineder Funeral Homes-Michigan Center Chapel (formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home).
He was born on August 10, 1947, in Jackson, Michigan to Harley and Jane (Seckinger) Gillette. Terry married the love of his life, Kathy, on November 25, 1972, in Jackson, Michigan. Terry was a graduate of Michigan Center High School in 1965. After High School, Terry went on to Jackson Community College, Eastern Michigan University and graduated from Wayne State University with his Doctorate in Law. He was a member of the Michigan Bar Association and practiced law for 50 years. He will be remembered as an amazing husband, father, and papa. He adored his family, especially his grandkids. Terry was known as the life of the party and a “collector of people”. Michigan Center Lake was Terry’s happy place, and he spent many years with close friends and family on the water. Terry loved to cook and especially bake. He was known as “The Cookie Man” and would donate his wonderful cookies to many in the local community. Terry was also a member of Duck’s Unlimited and Trout Unlimited because of his passion for hunting and fishing. In addition, Terry was a long-time former member of The Three Horse Club and a past president for the Clearwater Association.
Terry will be missed by his beloved wife, Kathy; his children, Mandy Allen and Josh (Jenni) Gillette; brother, Dave (Judy) Gillette and sister Susan (Charlie) Stone, sister and brother-in-law Mollie and Jon Cardell; grandchildren Addie Allen, Evan Gillette and Colt Gillette; God Daughters, Cari Lynn Thornton and Cori Conley and many cherished friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Jane Gillette
