Theresa Ann Martin's Obituary
Theresa Ann Martin, a pillar of love, faith, and kindness, peacefully ascended to her heavenly home on January 19, 2025, at approximately 3 a.m., surrounded by the family she cherished above all else.
Born in Detroit in 1938, Theresa lived a life defined by unwavering devotion to her faith, her family, and her values. She is survived by her children Michael, David and girlfriend Ann, Patrick and wife Melanie, and Daniel and girlfriend Kalen; her beloved sister Maryann and George Lazich; her 12 grandchildren—Anjali, Meera, BreAnn, Joel, Lucas, Paige, Brooke, Mackenzie, Abigail, and Lacey, Jackson, Sullivan and her 4 great-grandchildren—Blake, Nash, Lennon, and Asher. She is preceded by her loving husband Glen Martin, James Martin and Mark Martin her two sons.
Theresa’s love for her family was unparalleled. She instilled in those she touched the values of faith, respect, and kindness, which became the foundation upon which many lives were built. She was a beacon of her Catholic faith, regularly supporting her church and her favorite charities. Her home was a haven—a place of warmth and comfort where those in need could find solace and a chance to reset.
After growing up in Detroit, Theresa moved to Canton, Michigan, where she raised her family. Later, she and her late husband fulfilled a dream by building a planned retirement home in Cement City, Michigan. There, she spent her golden years surrounded by the beauty of nature, where she delighted in the gifts of God: hummingbirds, sunsets, and perfect days with a soft breeze at 75 degrees.
Theresa was a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a sweet tooth she happily indulged and a love for penny slots at the casino. Her laughter, generosity, and kind soul made her an inspiration to many, touching lives far beyond the family she held so dear. Her authenticity and warmth are her enduring legacy, ensuring that she will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service to honor Theresa’s beautiful life will be held on January 25th 2025. Public welcome at 10am and a public mass will start promptly at 11am at St. Rita’s Catholic Parish, 10516 Hayes Rd, Clarklake, Mi 49234
• In lieu of gifts and flowers. Theresa expressed donations to Salvation Army.
