Theresa Marie O'Dell's Obituary
Theresa Marie Arasim O’Dell, 93, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home under the care of her family and Arbor Hospice, October 21, 2025. Theresa’s family and friends will gather 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with the funeral Mass immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Timothy MacDonald and Fr. Amal will concelebrate the Mass. Interment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery at a later date.
Theresa was born on June 7, 1932, in Jackson, Michigan to John and Clara (Maryanski) Arasim. She attended and graduated from Michigan Center H.S. and continued her education at Jackson Business University where she earned a business degree. Theresa married the love of her life, Max O’Dell, on May 22, 1971. After her marriage to Max, they lived in Dallas Texas where she worked as a temporary secretary, while also owning her own business, O’Dell’s Jewelry and Gifts. Theresa enjoyed returning “home” to the farm from time to time, to help with all the work at hand. After living in Texas for 20 years she and Max retired and returned home to the farm in Michigan. She will be remembered for her dedication in her life to helping others, in totality. Theresa expressed a special thanks to her niece Christine Arasim Butler and her cousin Eddie Markiewicz.
Theresa will be greatly missed by her nieces, Theresa (Carl) Arasim Craig, Barbara (Mac) Arasim Fowler and Christine (Lee) Arasim Butler; nephew Charles Arasim; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Clara Arasim; brothers, John (Lell) Arasim Jr., Leo Arasim and Raymond Arasim, sister Dorothy (Thad) Obuchowski; nephews, William Arasim; great nephew, Tracy Fowler; several uncles, aunts and cousins.
