Thomas Edward Carter's Obituary
Thomas Edward Carter, age 89, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Thomas’ family and friends will gather Monday, September 25, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home). His service will be on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Summit Church of God with a gathering beginning at 10:00 a.m. Internment will be at 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pastor Mike Franklin and Pastor Gary Barton will be officiating.
Thomas was born on February 1, 1934, in Luxora, Arkansas to Thomas and Alice (Strader) Carter. Thomas married the love of his life, Lois, on June 4, 1954, in Witchita Falls, Texas.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Lois, their 3 children, Danny (Julie) Carter of Lynchburg, Tennessee, Debra (Richard) Moore of Midland, Michigan, and Ronnie (Tina) Carter of Jackson, Michigan. 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He is proceeded in death by his parents and siblings.
Thomas retired from the state of Michigan as a supervisor at Michigan State Industries. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, and he was also a long-time member of The Summit Church of God (formerly Jackson Church of God) for over 50 years, where he was highly respected and loved by all. Thomas loved his visits from his grandchildren who brought great-grandchildren to see him and Grandma, which always brought a smile to his face. Thomas will be missed by all who loved him.
