Thomas William Foster's Obituary
Age 79, of Blackman Township, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the medical care of Henry Ford Home Hospice. Tom was born in Jackson, Michigan on Sunday, October 17, 1943 to the late James J. and Phyllis G. (Hendges) Foster.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years; Janet K (Taylor) Foster, four children; Karen (Roy) Zantop, Thomas Edward Foster, Richard (LaDonna) Foster and James (Sindy) Foster, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, siblings; Phyllis Foster, Delores Hughes, Linda (David) Scott, Jeanne (Tim) Reimers and Tina Lewis, sister-in-law; Nancy Foster, brother-in law Bill Smith, best friend; Tom Nichols, many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister: Betty Smith and brother; Edward Foster, brothers-in-law; Bill Hughes and Mark Lewis, mother and father-in-law; Helen and George Taylor.
He retired after 25 years service at Pete's Packing in Jackson then went on to work several years for Jacobson's Warehouse. He enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets, folk, country, polka and 1950's surfing music, camping out and listening to his police scanner. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions. He was a skilled woodworker making beautiful products over the years.
Mr. Foster has been cremated. A Celebration to honor his life will be held at the Village Hope Church (123 W Porter Street, Jackson, Michigan 49202) on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 2 pm with Pastor Jeremy Toyer officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 pm until service time.
