Thomas Scott Sauser's Obituary
Age 66, of Napoleon Township, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 6, 2021. Tom retired in 2012 from the Norfolk-Southern Railroad as a locomotive engineer, and engaged in a myriad of hobbies in his leisure time. He was an avid follower of Chicago sports, especially the Cubs, and enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and any event that allowed him to spend time with family and friends. Tom was a huge fan of Rock and Blues music and never missed an opportunity to attend a good concert. He was Treasurer of the Legion Riders and a member of the Rose City Post - Sons of the American Legion. When not out and about, Tom loved nothing more than indulging in a drink by his pool, and made sure his friends and family knew they were always welcome.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cynthia; his children, Jennifer (Terri) Melchiori, Kimberly (CJ) Schneller, Brandon (Janet) Snyder, Amber Snyder, and Lindsay (Nick) Rudolph; his mother, Micki Sauser; his grandchildren, Kilian Soper, Tyson (Lara) Snyder, Jackson Snyder, Aubrey Benn, Noah Kormos, Elissa Kormos, Braison Rudolph, Lainey Rudolph, Reid Schneller and Evan Schneller; his brothers, Robert (Anne) Sauser and Jeff (Joy) Sauser;and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jon Sauser, a sister in infancy and his father, Harold Sauser. At his request, his loving family will host a Celebration of his life in his favorite place, the back yard of the family home (7729 Napoleon Road, Jackson, MI 49201) on Saturday August 14, 2021, starting at 2 pm. The family has asked that any contributions in his memory be made to the American Legion Rose City Post.
