Thomas H. Swartz's Obituary
Age 75, of Jackson, passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor. Tom is survived by his beloved family, his wife of 48 years, Nancy J. Swartz; son, Bryan Swartz of Jackson; daughter, Ann (Phil) Thorne of Lake LeAnn; two adored grandsons, Aiden and Peyton Thorne; sister-in-law, Suzanne Cross; brother-in-law, Gary (Karen) Rockwell; special cousin, Chris (Cindy) White; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Doris (White) Swartz. Tom was a 1963 graduate of Michigan Center High School and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army earning a bronze star during Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Wilber Bartlett Post #315, was a former member of the Wolf Lake Yacht Club and regularly took part in the Breakfast Club at the Michigan Center Plaza Restaurant. Tom thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, from hunting, sailing, snowmobiling, ice boating to fishing on waters of all sizes. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Tom's life will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 11:00 am with Reverend Larry Rubingh officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service time.
