Timothy Robert Thornton's Obituary
Timothy Robert Thornton, 68, of Clark Lake, MI, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. A private memorial service will be taking place. Please contact the family for details.
He was born on September 13, 1956, in Grosse Point, MI, to Robert and Carol (Fennessey) Thornton. Timothy’s partner in life and wife, Tammy Hersha, were together for 32 wonderful years. He graduated from John Glenn High School. Timothy was an avid deer hunter, a dedicated Tigers, Lions, Piston, Red Wings and UofM fan and he loved playing baseball and football in his younger years. He loved playing pool, horseshoes and bowling, where he scored a 300-point game or a “perfect game”. Timothy had a special gift of understanding animals, which made animals naturally gravitate towards him. He was especially passionate about dogs; always having pet dogs at home. Timothy's special dogs, Buddy and Lucy, miss him dearly. Timothy enjoyed staying busy, whether that was helping neighbors with lawn care, spending time with his family or just working around the house. Timothy will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Timothy will be missed by his wife, Tammy; his children, Robert and Tim Thornton, Brent (Jessica) and Kent Hersha and Laura (Michael) Dyjach; his sister, Pam Cantrell; his grandchildren, Alton, Amber, Evan, Riley, Lily, Tori, Stephen, Caleb and Joshua; his uncle, Mike Thornton; and his close friends, Bob Sildack and Rob Hall. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carol; his brother, Bill; his sister, Julie; and his uncle, Bud.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Jackson County Animal Shelter. Please leave a message of comfort for Timothy’s family or sign his guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
