Tommy Lee Johnson Jr's Obituary
Tommy Lee Johnson was born and raised in Jackson, MI. He attended Jackson Public Schools where he excelled academically. He earned many honors in the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed fishing with his grandparents, roller skating, and most sports. He was member of the high school wrestling team. Tommy Lee miraculously survived having spinal meningitis his senior year in high school and went on to attend Western Michigan University after which, he joined the United States Navy, married Katherine Johnson, and moved to Santa Clara, CA where he completed his academic studies earning a degree in accounting. Tommy resided in California working at Pacific Bell as a CPA until moving back to Michigan under the care of his mother, Doris Johnson.
Tommy has and is survived by his four children (and spouses): Erica Johnson (Laurent) Seck, Dr. Tonya (Anthony) Wallace, Leslie Johnson, and Tommaso Bardaro "Duke - Little Tommy"; thirteen grandchildren: Cynthia (Humberto) Sarinana, Laurent Seck Jr, Jean-Francois Seck, Robert (Pricilla) Haley, Mickala (Von) Franklin, Isiah (Jazmin) Smith, Chloe (Evan) Johnson, Jasmine Henry, Nicolas Bardaro, Gabriella Barbara, Mattia Bardaro, Natalie Bonilla and Elejandro Bonilla and five great-grandchildren.
Tommy is also survived by his mother, Doris (Cambric) Johnson; aunt, Lillian Hinton; and siblings: Ruby (Ron) Kimbrough, Cordell (Kathy) Cambric, Dr. Paulette (Dr. Leonard) Walker, Sabrina (Gerald) Burridge, Albert (Vernell) Johnson and DeShawn Johnson; along with eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Katherine Johnson; maternal great/grandparents, Lillian Jackson, Lillian Jones and Lester (Elizabeth) Cambric; paternal great and grandparents, Monroe (Rosie) Ervin and William (Annie Mae) Lamberson; his father Tommy Lee Johnson Sr.; and his brother, Dwayne Johnson.
Cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate and honor Tommy's life will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Noon from the Oasis of Love Full Gospel Church, 800 S. Cooper Street, Jackson, MI 49203. His family will begin greeting visitors at church beginning at 11:00 am.
