Travis James MacGuinness' Obituary
Travis was born April 27, 1990 and passed away October 22, 2016 due to heart failure. Saddened but not broken, we are confidently rejoicing as he is in complete fullness and experiencing the glory and love of his Heavenly Father. As we let him go, we know he would tell us to not fear for him for, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on this day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." Born with multiple disabilities, Travis began impacting those around him as soon as he entered this world. His simple joys, fighting spirit, and loyal love has rippled beyond our understanding without ever saying a word. There was no greater joy than watching others accept him in love, as they supported our family through the years. He is our son, our brother, our inspiration, our teacher. Survived by his parents, Mike and Connie MacGuinness; brother, Jason MacGuinness; sister, Sarah (Steven) Owens; sister in-law, Katie MacGuinness; nieces and nephews, Savannah, Jayden, and Jameson; loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A super-hero T-shirt themed memorial will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Jackson Free Methodist, 2829 Park Dr., Jackson. This will serve as the graduation party that his family always hoped to give him. A short service will take place from 11:00-11:45. An open-house style celebration of his life will continue from 11:45-2:00 with time for food and fellowship as people are able to join. If people are interested in donating to a cause, the family would like to honor the Lyle A. Torrant Center by planting a tree and placing a bench for their playground.
