Velma Mae Janz's Obituary
Age 96, of Leoni Township, went to be with the Lord and to meet up with her husband, Kenny on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Velma was born on December 24, 1919 in Fairfield, Iowa. Besides her husband Kenny, she was preceded in death by her parents, Mina and Charles Smith; brothers, Russell and Ora Smith; sisters, Mabel Jenkins and Jessie Merrow; daughter, Patricia Gunning and grandson, Todd Gunning. She is survived by sons, Tim (Carol) and Cliff (Carolyn) Janz; 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Velma was faithful in serving our Lord Jesus as church secretary for 25 years and more as a Sunday School teacher at Michigan Center Bible Church as well as witnessing for the Lord. She had attended The Refuge Church. A funeral service will be at Arthur-Day Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 with Bruce Mast officiating. Visitation will be an hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
