Veronica A. Kastl's Obituary
Veronica A. Kastl, 97, of Manchester died Sunday, August 16, 2020 in Grand Haven. Born on March 6, 1923, in Detroit, she was the daughter of Anthony & Agnes (Matuszak) Jurecki. Veronica graduated Chelsea High School in 1941, and during WWII, she worked for Federal Screw Works in Chelsea. On July 3, 1944, also in Chelsea, she was united in marriage to Joseph Kastl, who preceded her in death in 2006. Veronica has been a resident of Manchester since the 1940’s, and purchased their family farm in November, 1948. She was a member of the Washtenaw Area Farm Bureau Group, and affiliated with St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, serving on the Alter Society. Veronica took pleasure in the simple things in life and enjoyed sewing. As the family matriarch, she provided much love and care to all.
Surviving are two daughters, Elaine (Arthur) Feldkamp and Joanne (Jeffrey) Vander Veen; four granddaughters, Sarah (Scott) Pastoor, Jodi (Jeffrey) Schulz, Lisa Vander Veen and Anne Marie Vander Veen; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Veronica was preceded in death by three sisters, Rose Jakubiec, Sophie Paul, and Helen Wahl.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, on Friday, August, 21, 2020 at Eineder Funeral Home, Manchester Chapel- 207 E. Duncan St., Manchester, Michigan. Immediately following, a graveside committal service will be held at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Manchester. Rev. Fr. Bosco Padamattummal will officiate.
Face masks and social distancing will be required at all times in accordance with the current government mandates.
